Brief
JIIC was required to assist Glenn Howells with materials and surface finishing advice and the manufacture of aluminium components to be utilised within a scaled working model of one of the company's proposed projects. This offered the potential to demonstrate to their clients the exact materials and finishes in model form proposed for the fabrication of an actual building project.
Impact

- Suitable materials and finishes that were sympathetic to aesthetic needs and building requirements were discussed and agreed. Manufacturing methods were explored for the specific model components to enable delivery in the given timeframe.
- The company was assisted with materials and finishing information to support the presentation of the scaled model.
- The support helped the company present their ideas in actual proposed materials rather than substitute modelling materials. This allowed them to present a more comprehensive representation of the proposed building project to their client.
Although the company have model production facilities in house, this particular brief involved expertise and knowledge of materials and finishing processes outside of their capacity. The innovative design for this particular project, and the subsequent scaled model helped secure the contract for them.
