Councillor Randal Brew visits the JIIC

The Deputy Lord Mayor of Birmingham, Councillor Randal Brew, visited the Jewellery Industry Innovation Centre (JIIC), Birmingham City University on Monday 8th of September. Councillor Brew met the team, and was given an in depth overview of both the work that the Centre is doing and the extensive technologies available there.

Councillor Brew said "I am absolutely delighted that I have made this visit to the JIIC. I have been closely involved with Jewellery SME's for over 40 years, and am fully aware of the status of the Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham and the pride the City has in this unique area."

Seeing the technology at the Centre in action, and after speaking with the team about the services offered to SME's, Councillor Brew said "the JIIC has taken over a hundred years of history and is helping businesses to convert to the 21st century, so that they are able to compete in an ever more competitive world, the skills and technology at the JIIC are very important for these companies."
